A new artificial turf sports field, to be used mainly for field hockey, has been recommended by the Vancouver Park Board for a location in the south end of the city.

CityNews reports the public has said the city lacks such a facility at Moberly Park, forcing residents to go elsewhere to meet their recreational needs.

The president of the Vancouver Hawks field hockey team spoke to the board in support of the field proposal, saying such a field earmarked mainly for the sport is overdue. The proposed location has been deemed ideal by those supporting the board’s motion.
