The City of Regina is responding to the rapid growth of cricket in Saskatchewan.

Global News reports that city council has put forth a request for proposal to expand an existing cricket ground at Grassick Park.

Interest in cricket has been growing in Saskatchewan, including the past three years in particular. Many community residents are from India and Pakistan where cricket is especially popular.

In addition to the cricket field at Grassick Park, Regina has two other city fields where the sport is played.
