A location for a new regulation size baseball diamond in Chatham, Ont. has been pinpointed. CK News Today reports that, pending approval by council, the facility will enable the municipality to host large events for players 14 and older as well as programs for those with cognitive or physical disabilities.
The preferred location is the soccer field site at Kiwanis Stadium. The project is subject to design work and requiring final approval by council.
The committee behind the project considered purchasing new land for the field project, but the added time and costs involved ruled out the option.
