Cedarhurst GC superintendent passes away

Sean Evelyn, longtime superintendent at Cedarhurst Golf Club near Beaverton, Ont., died May 20 at his home with family at his side.

The 54-year-old had been married to his wife Heather for 25 years. He was the father of son Christopher, son of Patricia and the late John Evelyn, and brother to Jay, Mary and Roly. He also leaves behind a brother-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.

 

Family received friends at the O’Neill Funeral Home in Stouffville, Ont. on May 24.

Funeral mass took place on May 25 at St. Mark’s Roman Catholic Church in Stouffville.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation were appreciated by the family.

Jim Schwann of Wallah Signs, a member at Cedarhurst for 37 years, said as a tribute to Sean, the greens this spring at Cedarhurst “have never been better.
