Barrie establishes web page to relay developments about controversial sports field project

Barrie, Ont. has established a page on its official website to keep residents informed about developments surrounding an artificial turf sports field and local Sea Cadets parade ground project slated for the city’s waterfront.

The project has been mired in controversy since it was originally proposed, but the city has essentially given its approval.

A recent rally at city hall attracted about 200 people who gathered to voice their displeasure about the project. Another rally has been planned for June 12.
